Our favourite Indian restaurant closed so we were in search of somewhere new. Online ordering was easy and we were given a delivery time of 45 minutes. Sadly the food arrived after 1h 25 and was stone cold. The food itself was ok but the curry lacked flavour. We will carry on with our search for a new takeaway.

Being a small town people have always raved about how good The Mogul is and I have always been happy with the experience when I have visited.
However after dining there tonight I felt compelled to give a five star review.
Portion sizes are ideal, service per other reviews is exceptional and the flavour of the food was just amazing.
Definitely my go to from now on

Sad to say this was a disappointing take-away dinner. A varied order but meats were dry and sauces bland and basic. Biryani was greasy and apart from the naan it did not taste fresh or authentic.

Went on a Friday, VERY busy and loud. Food did take quite a time to come ( we hadn’t ordered starters & they were doing quite a few takeaways) But the food is great, really delicious. We normally get a takeaway - Love this Indian

Slightly generic food but well prepared, great atmosphere and attentive if a bit slow service.
Beautiful ancient historic building. Try your book a table downstairs- it’s very cosy. Easily the best Indian restaurant in Saffron Walden central location and good value

The food is okay and prices are good for Saffron Walden. Closest parking is on the street outside after 1800, or the Common or Swan Meadow.

Went for dinner here tonight with my family and everything was 10/10. The service from all staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. All the food was extremely good, very flavourful and all came very hot. We were also given an extra dish from the chef’s specials which was hugely appreciated as it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!

This was the first time returning to The Mogul in many years, amidst mixed reviews.
The staff were welcoming, however we were pretty much forgotten about once our food order was taken, aside from topping up drinks..
Our party of 5 were all shocked at how long our food took to arrive. From ordering, our main meals took 1hr 40m to be served!! During this time multiple tables were served/had finished and left, including a table larger than ours who arrived after us!
After the meal I then needed to find a member of staff to request a bill, as nobody was paying attention to our table. Needless to say we skipped the service charge.
Overall the food was decent (aside from the dahl, which seemed to be the dregs and mostly liquid) but the service and wait times were unacceptable. I can’t see myself returning any time soon after this experience.

We go here everytime we are in Saffron Walden visiting family. We love it, we love Sammy, best Indian Food in the area. Best place for a peshwari naan by a country mile. Service with a joke and a smile always, great bunch of lads. All the reviews moaning about nit picky things are probably in the Karen elite club.

Go anywhere else!! First time ordering and will never order again. £70 of BLAND, overly sweet, no spice, cold disappointment! The sauce tastes like it’s store bought with a ton of sugar added. No tikka flavouring the only nice part was the mushroom rice. You’d be better off getting a ready meal from the shops.

As usual, cracking good service and tasty food, slightly let down by the 3 prawns in my king prawn masala. I know things are tough guys, but please don't start making our portions smaller, we do notice.

Really delicious food, amazing flavours, big variety of dishes and good portion size. The service is great and staff super friendly. Also really good for take away dinners. Definitely recommend!

The Mogul is hands down the best Indian restaurant I've ever visited. The food seems to get better everytime we visit and the service is always wonderful. You are really made to feel welcome. We try to visit at least every couple of months if possible.
